Holtzapffel.org is dedicated to the renowned 19th C. maker of ornamental turning equipment.
This site provides a collection of information about the Holtzapffel company, the tools they produced and the family that created it all.
Holtzapffel Lathe No. 2456 was created around 1898 and first sold in 1900. Shown here with elliptical chuck, eccentric chuck, self-centering wire chuck, curvilinear apparatus, eccentric cutting frame, brass cup chucks, and more. This lathe was owned at one time by the well-known author T.D. Walshaw, who wrote under the pen name Tubal Cain. It is fully restored and in perfect working order — a testament to the fine, enduring quality of Holtzapffel lathes and ornamental turning apparatus.
